I have a question about the AAC QD mounts; I'm planning on putting a can on my new AR down the road and have a 14.5 so I am going to use the blackout QD mount. My question is what is what can mounts to which one? Ones an 18 tooth and the other is a 51 tooth, or are they pretty much the same? I'm sorry if this is a retarded question, but I couldn't seems to find any info about this. Thanks!

AAC M41000 = 18 tooth
AAC M42000 = 51 tooth

2006 and earlier AAC M4-2000s also use the 18 tooth mounts.

i assume the more teeth the better you can screw the can on?

Kinda, the 18 tooth mount uses a bent spring to keep its position, it can be moved by just turning the can.
The 51 tooth is a locking ratchet design, the can can only be removed by depressing the lock and unscrewing it.

You would have to call Major Malfunction.
Polite Society shows out of stock.
AAC is out of stock.
Unless there is another source...?

I just had a 51tooth put on my Colt 6920 last night at my class 3 dealer.

I can call him to day to make sure, but I think he has a few in stock of both the 51 an 18 tooth flash hider/QD mount
