I've done a bit of searching today, and haven't really found the answers to questions I was looking for.

I checked out the "all you ever wanted to know" thread, and...it didn't have EVERYTHING I wanted to know, but gave me a lot of good information.

I'm somewhat new to BRD and for my next big purchase, I was thinking of getting a suppressor for my Rock River Entry Tactical.  That being said, this would be my first suppressor, and i'm not really sure what I need / need to do etc.

First, I have read about people going and meeting with the Chief of Police in their area before submitting items like this, but when looking over the form, I didn't see anything on it for them to sign off on etc, is this required? What's the purpose of going to meet / speak with the CoP etc and what should i know before doing so?

Second, what type of changes would I have to make to allow my rifle to support a suppressor?   I watched some video's from a show talking about suppressors, and I saw they just slipped a can over the end of the barrel and it attached, but i'm not sure if this is normal, or a special attachment, or flash hider etc.  My RRA has a A2 flash hider and I'd like to keep it available to be put on if / when not using the supressor, but i'm unsure of my options...

Third, what else do I need to know?  I already know I have to purchase from the seller (FFL ETC) fill out paperwork, and send it in etc.  This is a long wait time normally (I read today somebody got one back after 22 weeks or s) and pay the 200.00 stamp fee.  What else am I missing / do I need to be aware of before I start looking into this type of purchase?

Last, if somebody wants to throw some random suggestions / brand names etc out there for a .223 RRA Entry Tactical, that wouldn't be horrible :)

Any helps is appreciated, thanks guys.

If you do a individual transfer of a suppressor when you fill out the forms you will need somebody like the chief of police to sign off on it basically so they know you are an ok person to own this item. You can also go the Trust or Corp routes which you don't need the sign off since the NFA item will be registered to the Trust or Corp and not you as an individual person.

You can buy a thread mounted suppressor, or you can get a suppressor that uses a special mount to attach to, or some suppressors can even work with your standard flash hider. I like the AAC M2000 suppressor a lot, but there are many options out there. AAC, Gemtech, Surefire, YHM, and so forth...

If using a Class 3 dealer, it would be easier if they already have the suppressor you want in stock also. They should be able to help you with filling out the forms.

For the Trust / Corporate route, that allows anybody in the trust / corp to use the item, is that right?

and can you setup something like that as an individual for this purpose?  Like for example my father and I wanted to setup something like this, can we do that?
