I finally picked up my cans last week. SWR Trident and Warlock and an AAC M4-2000. I've got to admit I was impressed with the Trident. It was much quieter than I was expecting. When I was shooting at steel, the impact was by far the loudest noise. The Warlock is awesome too. Very quiet on the 10-22 I built for it when using Dynapoints. Also quiet on my P22 and a blast to shoot.
The M4-2000 seemed loud to me at first. When I let someone else shoot it, I was very surprised at how much quieter it seemed while standing 5-6 feet away. Even with the gasket trick on the charging handle, I still got gassed in the face. A couple observations: Shooting surpressed is dirty business. My arms, hands, and face were dirty. The inside of my Sig had carbon building up on the feedramps. The LCD on the Trident was a bitch to take apart after 400 rounds. Is it normal to get that much carbon buildup? I also noticed a lot of buildup on the flash hider and on the inside thread of the M4-2000 after 250 rounds making it bind up slightly when taking it off. Is this normal too? What are some of you using to clean the inside of the blast chamber. After 300-400 rounds on the Warlock, I didn't notice as much buildup as I expected. Hopefully this is a good sign. Overall, it was worth the four month wait. Can't wait til this weekend! |

It is normal with the Trident to get a bunch of carbon buildup in my experience. A few hundred rounds and the LCD (or 3-lug) mount need a good cleaning. My 3-lug mount got stuck open on me from not cleaning it overnight one time. It's worth it. -X ***ETA: Where's the pics!?!*** |
