hi, i am new to suppressors and NFA items plus how the $200 tax stamp thing works but i recently picked up a 92fs. I want to get a supressor for it, i know i need to get my barrel threaded or just buy anohther barrel that is already threaded. I also know i need a 9mm supressor.

ok here is where im lost, i think im going to get the gemtech trinity suppressor http://www.impactguns.com/store/GEM-TRIN-M9.html . now that i know where to get it, dont i need to go to my local gun store and fill out some kind of forum and they send it to the BATF office? and then they get back to me in so many months. my question is if i were to buy one what would i do first?

oh and is the trinity suppressor "good" are they known for any problems or is there a better one? i perfer to fire a dry can.

sorry for the question that probly gets asked here every day but i cant find any info on it

You need to start by finding your local Class III (NFA) licensed dealer.  Your average gun store cannot simply order the suppressor for you, unless they hold such an endorsement.  Once you find an appropriate dealer, they can walk you through the process.

***Sir, appreciate the interest, but just as an FYI as Monkeytoys pointed out, the TRINITY is an older model that was discontinued over a year ago.  It was replaced by either the Gemtech TUNDRA (keeping the 1.25 diameter compact size) suppressor, or the MULTIMOUNT (keeping the Gemtech-innovated modular-rear mount concept, but in an 1.375" diameter form factor).

If you were specifically looking for the 1.25 diameter, the TUNDRA was recently tested quieter than it's competitors and is a really good can.  The MULTIMOUNT gives more flexibility, having the future-proof modularity for you to change out mounting options to use on more host firearms, and is a little quieter still.

Impact should be able to get you either of these (they're in stock here, ready to ship from Gemtech if they don't have them in stock there).  As a heads-up, I believe Major Malfunction (an online suppressor dealer out of the Sooner State) was doing a Christmas sale on the MULTIMOUNTs and has them in stock last I heard as well. Might be worth checking out.

Regards,

Kel

What kind of barrel is that?
If you have the 1/2x 28 thread mount as well as the LCD, let us know if it cycles with either.
thanks

EFK Firedragon, 5.6"

1/2x28 LCD. I do'nt have the fixed mount. I fired two shots into a sand filled clearing barrel, and it cycled fine. I've got one heck of a cold, but as soon as i feel like half a turd, i'm gonna dump a few mags at the range.

I have heard changing the recoil spring helps cycle the beretta without an LID, if I swap mine out to a 9 or 10# spring will I have to change back to the factory to use the gun without the suppressor?

I've got the older trinity model, doesn't need a LID.  Heavier cans need the LID to cycle, lighter aluminum cans don't.  I'd go with a MultiMount and 1/2 28 end cap.  Gemtech threads the existing barrel.  Remember if you buy a second barrel you'll need to buy another locking block as most places don't supply one with a barrel purchase.

I enjoy my YHM Wraith very much.  I have not heard other 9mm cans in person to have a comparison. But with subsonic ammo is is pretty darn quiet.
