What, if anything do you recommend for maintennance of a SureFire FA556AR?

Clean compensator / adapter removing all fouling from bearing surfaces.

Brush and or scrape all residue from the suppressor mounting surfaces and compensator /  adaptor.  Take care to orient parts so carbon does not fall into the bore or into the suppressor body.

Gun cleaning solvent may be used to clean the compensator / adaptor and the corresponding internal mounting surfaces of the suppressor.

Do not allow solvent to flow into the suppressor body.  Keep suppressor muzzle up when brushing the inside.

The above is from the Operators Manual.

I use Hoppes no. 9 and the supplied plastic brush to clean the internal mounting surfaces keeping the suppressor muzzle up.  To clean the adaptor, I use same solvent and a brass brush for the carbon fouling.  If it's really bad, I use a pocket knife to scrape the fouling off.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I read the manual but I was just wondering if there were any quirks not mentioned by the company. Also, I occasionally put .22 through it so I was wondering if there's anything special I ought to do.

It's inconel so the hydrogen peroxide vinegar shit should be ok for it for sure.

Use a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and peroxide  mix for stainless/inconel cans. Let soak and soak some more. The mix will turn blue and frothy. Then blow it out with compressed air. I would not do this to an aluminum suppressor however.

And that mix makes some nasty byproducts too.  Don't poor that in your backyard.

Will this remove lead or copper at all, or just carbon? Also, the manufacturer advises against submersion in solvents, are they just being overly cautious?

Mine has soaked for days in Stoddard solvent, and a few other things as well.
