About 2 months ago I bought a AAC Evo 9 for my Glock 17 and Glock 19. I bought LW threaded barrels for both of them and both work great. The problem I am having is that the suppressor comes loose after about 5-8 rds. I have tried Teflon tape and the suppressor still unscrews itself. Is there any remedy to this, like a QD for a pistol barrel? Or is this something I am just going to have to live with. Any advice or help would be great. |
| Use a drop or two of purple low-strength Loctite. The only place I know to get it is from Brownells. It is a reusable type of Loctite that really just fills in any differences between the thread surfaces. I have been using it for years without applying any new drops. If you put too much you will have to get it pretty hot to break loose. |
Just curious......Why would a barrel from Jarvis or KKM not allow the can to back off if they are all threaded with the same pitch |
There are different classes/tolerances when threading even though the pitch will be the same. |
My evo45 fits perfectly with the KKm in my G21SF. I chose KKM because of the piss poor-we will get to you when we can-oh..you only want 1 barrel type of customer service that I got from jarvis. KKM was prompt friendly and I got it in a week, instead of dealing with jarvis' 4 month wait time. KKM is riciculously accurate. mine is done in .578x28 FYI. |
I have a LW barrel on my G17 and have not had any trouble with the suppressor loosening even after a whole afternoon of shooting. YMMV |

I had the same problem with my Noveske-cut Glock 34 barrel with the standard 1/2x28 thread and my Evo 9. I spoke with John at Noveske's who sent some of the absolute thinnest O-rings--maybe 1/2 a millimeter--it fixed it. This problem is shy I prefer the "European" threading of 13.5x1 LH--the can tightens rather than unscrewing....Never have the problem with my SIG226 or Jarvis Glock 26 which has this thread pitch. |
Does your piston housing have the O-ring in it? I believe all the newer EVO9s have an O-ring, if it doesn't maybe contact them and see if they can send you one. |
