I'm playing hell trying to get my YHM Mite appart to clean it.  I coverenc the entire baffle and the threads in anti sieze last time i put it together.  i think I had too much fun at the range last time and put about 800-1000 rounds through it.  I have the tool mounted in a vice and a strap wrench on the can and I can't get it to break free.  The strap wrench is just spinning.  I even soaked the can in WD-40 over night.

Any suggestions?

I had to use two people.... one to hold the tool and one to spin the mite, in the end - it took alot of force to break mine open. BUT I didn't use any grease my first time out. (my fault)

Place it in the oven when the wife is away and heat it to 350 for about 5 min. Then take the strap wrench with the tool in the vise and it will come apart. I only had the issue when mine was new and I ran 2K round thru it on full auto.

Easiest way to get it open...............

Wrap the Mite with vinyl electrical tape.

Get a wooden 2x2 and drill a 1" hole through it.

Once you drill a hole in it, cut it in half.......you now have two 'C' blocks.

Place the covered Mite in the wooden blocks and place it in the vice, dont be afraid, you can really wrench it down.

use the supplied take-down tool in a socket wrench and remove the core.

Easy as pie.

I see a trend here.

Get a sealed can and don't worry about it.

I only put 200-300 rounds through mine at a time and I anti-seize the crap out of it. I haven't had any problems opening the can. I usually go ahead and unthread it when I am doing shooting and its still warm.

I take the takedown tool with me to the range.  After a couple hundred rounds, I break it loose while it is still warm.

If you are using a rubber strap wrench, they suck.  These actually work:  Real Strap Wrench.

The rubber coated steel clamp type work better.  Finding them in obscure, non-oil filter diameters is tough.  (maybe impossible.)
