I buy from my local SOT.  He buys most of his stuff through Polite Society, who are listed in the industry section.

Also, there's a suppressor section in the Armory community that would be better suited for this question.

Buy what you want.  Decide what matters to you.

I personally would look at size (diameter and length), weight, and performance.

Depending on the weapon, these considerations will be more or less important.

IE: my buddy has an MP5, and it's so light it feels like a BB gun, and it has sights set about 1.75" above the bore.  So diameter and weight of his can are not what I would consider to be important.  Anything as large as 10"x2" in something made of aluminum weighing less than 26 ounces, should be perfectly fine.

You need to decide what is most important to you when picking out a can.  Some people only want the most quiet.  Others want something light weight, or build like a tank to take a lot of abuse.  Some people want a certain mounting system (three-lug or other fast-attach, thread mount).  Some guys are just brand loyal.  Some people put price at the top of their list and I really don't get that.  A silencer purchase is a lifetime purchase.  Resale of used cans is pretty bad in most cases.

What kind of can/caliber are you shopping for?

Have you visited any local SOTs?
