Does anyone make an AR15 Flash Hider that is theaded on the out side to allow a 22 LR Silencer to be attached to the flash hider instead of the barrel?

I thought I saw a short flash hider that had threads on the out side. I haven't been able to find it in some old posts in ARFCOM.

I am ordering a Spikes Upper and I have a SWR Spectre on the way. I would like to have a flash hider on the barrel and be able to thread the suppressor to the flash hider.

Thanks for any input and/or suggestions.

Dane,

The flash hiders are too thick to fit a can over it, we tried to develop one a few years ago and it never materialized because it was too much work and when we got it right it was so think that it didn't do any flash hiding.  Was a fun project but didn't work in the end.

Also I have yet to see any others out there, the only ones I can think of are the standard QD flash hiders from Gemtech or Yankee Hill.

Thanks Tite_Shot_VA.

I sure hate threading and unthreading a silencer at the range. Makes me think twice about my selection.

YHM makes a (large) QD .22 (Wraith).  Its QD mount will also take their .223 QD cans:

I already ordered my Spectre. Everyone tells me it is a Great Silencer, but I know I will be cursing at the range when I start screwing it on and off.

The only solution is to buy more thread-on cans.

Green0 just started production of a QD adapter for .22 cans. If you want QD, that is one option.
