Looking for some feedback, as I've never personally handled a SWR silencer. I am trying to figure which would be the "best" for my setup, the SWR Trident9 or the YHM Cobra 9. Both offer 3 lug for my MP5, both can be had with an LID for use with my Glock 34. Both handle full auto use fine...... I checked the silencer "test" site, however they do not have any info on the YHM cobra in comparison. |
| Unfortunately I can't lend any first hand experience, however, I recently purchased an SWR Trident (still waiting to xfer) and prior to doing so did quite a bit of reading and research. I honestly have yet to find a trident owner who is unhappy with their purchase, both in terms of suppression and versatility. |

Shameless self promotion but it fits your requirements listed and is a new product you may not have been aware of. Gemtech MultiMount Owen Gemtech |

I have fired both. I currently have a SWR Trident and have a Cobra on the way. The Trident will be much quieter than the Cobra, just based on the design. My MP5 is cats quiet with the Trident and with the Cobra its noticeable louder. I am getting the Cobra as a demo-can for my customers. Its a nice can but when considering the Trident the Trident wins hands down. Go with a Trident you WON'T be disappointed! -TS |
I was afraid you'd say that ![]() In the end, I know I want to go with the trident, but I was hoping I could get the cobra to save some cash. I had a cobra at one point, but sold it to fund another purchase..... Oh well. |
I looked at that unit, looks interesting - I am skeptical however being that it's so new on the market. PM Sent though. |
The Trident is definitely quieter than the Cobra (the Cobra is not bad for the money). I also really like the MultiMount, the example I looked at was very well done.

Uuhhmmm... I wanna say that SWR helped YHM develope their cans... I could be wrong. |
SoundTech helped YHM. |

While I can't help you, I have a Trident on order as well. I actually went into a local shop and impulsively bought a Gemtech Trinity. I got home and researched it. I didn't find a single good review of the Trinity vs. other cans. So I went in the next day and switched my order to a Trident. Now all I have to do it wait. I bought it because I plan on using it on my Lage M-11/9 & a Beretta 92. It can handle the full-auto and function on the Beretta at the same time. With the screw on mount, it will work with both. I may get a LID to try it out on my new Sig 250, but I need to find an extended barrel for it first. Since it is my new carry gun, I don't want to mess with the stock barrel. They should be releasing new barrels for it in the near future. |
Oh, yeah... |

Trident with 147gr subsonic, around 1000 fps. Very nice with little-to-no blowback. I'm very happy with it.....light and functional. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF2Z6U4Z5Vg |
