For some reason, I cannot get the Ops Inc. website to load.  All I get is "403 Forbidden" . . .

Ideas?  Thanks!

While we're waiting, here is my favorite m4 with a 16th.  She now wears a KAC URX:

At the range on Friday, we were having a discussion about 338 Lapua (and 338 Ultra) rifles.  Since it's seems that suppressors actually reduce recoil (or at least that's been my experience), I wanted to learn all that I could about good quality 338-cal suppressors for possible installation on a bolt gun.

Ops makes the 3rd model in a 2" diameter can and a 12th in 1.5 diameter.  The 12th being a special order item.
Surefire makes one now, so does AAC.
SRT also makes one
I so far like the looks of the Surefire can the best.

Either way you a looking at anywhere form 1K to 3K for price depending on what your flavor is.

It seems to me that the criteria should be (money being an important consideration) a balance of the highest sound suppression combined with the minimal effect on accuracy and highest durability for the lowest price.  To achieve this, I think that for such a large rifle, one could easily sacrifice size and weight to achieve durability, suppression, accuracy, and low cost.

A 2" OD 3rd model is available for the .338LM.  Its a pleasure to shoot. The barrel will have to have a specual contour to accept the suppressor. The can would run around $12-1500.

To be honest, it would be a hard toss up for me between the Ops 3rd and Surefire.  I have seen the AAC Titan Demo'd and it is quit, but have spoken with others who swear by the Ops. AAC has just left a bad taste in my mouth on a couple issues lately for me to drop $1500 bucks on a can right now.  There are videos of both the Ops 3rd model and Surefire on youtube if you search

There has only been 1 2" .338LM suppressor made by OPS, and you havent heard it so I'm not sure what your basis is for the comparison to consider it a toss up?  There is a HUGE sound difference between a 1.5" OD suppressor and a 2" OD suppressor.

In my comment, I said that I had spoken with people who have used and recommend the Ops cans.  I spoke with retired military guy who now works at Remington Arms, whom I will not list his name, that did the testing on different .338 LM cans for the M24A3, and of all the cans he tested; he recommended the Ops 12th.  I only said that I had heard the Titan, never that I had heard the 2" 3rd model, only in your video.  I had spoken with you via email a while back about ordering one, and the difference between the 2 models and also spoken with Ron on the phone for about 30 minutes one day talking about different .338 options and he recommended the 3rd 2".
