Anyone ever use the Opsinc  16th model in either the SPR precision platform or on the m4type carbines?? Any thoughts compared to the 12th or pics?

The 16th uses the same baffle stack as the 12th, and from what i've heard people say, it sounds exactly the same. The 16th only has a shorter rear to allow mounting on a barrel with an M203 step.

The 12th needs a special collar to mount to a M4. Just my opinion but the 16th is a better fit.

I have the 12th and 16th and to me they sound the same.  If your building an SPR clone then get the 12th otherwise I would get the 16th.  I will try and and post some pictures of my setups tonight.

Got a chance to shoot the 14th, 15th, and 16th models and I personally like the 16th the best.  My ears couldn't tell a huge difference, but the 16th seemed to be the best of the 3.  Wish I could have heard the 12th..

I personally wouldn't have a problem running the 16th on an SPR-ish or M4-ish rifle/carbine.  Actually, when I can afford it, I'm going to get a 16th or 12th but I'm still a little torn (don't know what role/s I want this suppressor to fill yet).

I'd say Steve at ADCO will chime in pretty soon and give a couple helpful words.

any know if the outside diameter is the same between the 16th and 12th? if they are the basically the 12th only adds a 1/4 to the length past the muzzle..

That's because you didn't get tp shoot the 12th.

All OPS Inc cans up to .338LM are 1.5" in diameter.

have any of you guys mounted a 12th on a M4 16" barrel setup? I guess it would have to be the non M203 barrel

its been done, but of the OPS line, the 16th is the way to go for a carbine if db reduction is the main goal.

If you have an SPR clone, it almost a crime to not get the 12th model

I have and I had to make the mount for it.  This was when Ops first started selling to the public and either the 16th wasn't available or my dealer didn't know anything about it.

I wish I could have just bought the 16th.  I would have saved me some trouble.  But I still really love the 12th.  No regrets.

Heres a vidof my friends on his M16 - its probably the most comfortable carbine type suppressor I've heard.

Nice vid Steve...doesnt seem like you need to wear ear protection with the right ammo....

Do you have a pic of the adaptor for converting the 12th collar to the 16th?

Your SPR currently has #1 installed.
putting #5 onto #1 allows the attachement of the 14 15 16 models. - basically moves the shoulder forward 5/8".

#2 is the other option for attaching the 14 15 16 to a barrel with the collar set up for the 12th.

forgetting how it sounds.......

the rifle barely moves....one thing i have always enjoyed the most about the OPS cans, how much recoil is taken away with the can

Steve...I understand what your saying but the question that I'm trying to ask is of #5 sits on the edge of the lip of #1 or does it overlap and sits on the shoulder,,,,>?

It sits on the shoulder.

I've never handles Opsinc cans so I got lots of dumb questions...Steve..or anyone else....one  final question.... I noticed that all the collars have a sleeve that extends outwards from the shoulder that looks like where the suppressor slides over as a guide? for support for lateral movement?

BUt the 12th collar adaptor does not....I guess its not necessary.? IT would seem I should just remove my 12th collar and just get the 16th collar for 12th barrel rather than the adaptor since I dont even  have a 12th can....

The collar is OK if you have multiple cans and multiple collars but otherwise it is a pain in the ass.

I'll try to get you some more pictures tonight.

I got to fire an M4 with the 16th model.

What really impressed me besides the sound, was that no gas was
hitting me in the face through the charging handle.

I really like that suppressor over any other that I have gotten to try.

Steve,

is collar #2 for mounting a 12th model on a 20" barrel?

The reason I ask is because I am putting together a Mk12-0 semi-clone and had planned on using the appropriate 18" barrel for it but I sort of fell into a Krieger SAM barrel, so my Mk12 will be 20" instead of 18".

No, it is the collar that lets you use a 15/16th model on a barrel cut for a 12th model.
