I want to get a suppressor in the near future, but first of all, i'm 19...I was wondering, you know how a parent can buy a gun and then sign it over to a minor if he/she is under 18 as a gift? can you do that with a suppressor? i understand that it would take a long time for the paperwork, but is it legal to do? Also, I have a 16"bbl m4gery, but i don't want the suppressor to be too long off the end of the barrel, is there one that looks short and works effectivly? maybe goes over the end of the barrel like the ops inc? also, do you guys have any pics? i looked through the pic thread, but didn't see anything that i liked. or was what i was looking for. Thanks guys! Tom |

You might be able to form a trust with you, and your father as the trustees, and use someone else as the beneficiaries. He could fill out the citizenship form. Or he could form the trust himself, then add you later. I went the corp route w/ the family business so my father & I could both have access to the suppressors we bought. The latest stuff I did, I went the trust route so my own son could inherit the stuff without the $200 transfer tax per item. He's only 7 - you gota plan ahead! I wish I'd done the trust with the first three. PS..............I'm not a lawyer, just a guy.......... |
| You could form a corp where you and your father are officers (and anyone else you wish who is free of felonies/other disqualiying criteria and 18 or older), or you could form a shared trust with your father where you are both co-grantors and co-trustees (trustee being the key word here---trustee = possession). |
