After I saw a couple threads on the Suppressed Armament Systems (SAS) .30 can, I gave Tim a call and after a little discussion, decided to order one. He mentioned that he's going to try to reduce the weight of his .30 can. I plan on using it to suppress a 7.62x39mm MGI AR and a Savage .308 bolt rifle (Don't have it yet). In the mean time, for those who have his can already, what do you think? Any videos? |
| Send him an E-mail at [email protected] and he will send you some video's. |
Thanks...my can is not a QD. |

It would be cool to see some pictures of his QD system... he doesn't seem to picture the product too well on the site. I was only interested because if he does dealer discounting, his products will be dirt cheap to me, and affordable to potential customers... WI residents aren't into spending too much on weapons.

I was thinking the same thing. Tim mentioned that he's working on a lightweight and a Ti can. |

I think it's a great can for the money. I also had Tim make me an adapter so that I can use it on my AR-15s. Think of it as the car equivalent of a toyota camry. There are other cars out there that perform a little better, but for most people the camry does 95% of what the more expensive cars do and meets their needs well. I don't regret buying my SAS can for a moment and would recommend it to others. Oh, and their customer service is top notch. |

I have an SAS .30 can that I love. On the PARA FAL 16", it cuts the blast down and is louder than I would like, but still fantastic. I think the FAL itself is just not a great platform for suppressing. It is quieter if you turn off the gas and shoot it like a bolt gun. After a second trip to the range with the suppressed FAL, I got to stand behind it while someone else fired it. The difference of a few feet changed my whole perception. It sounded like a .22magnum.. Mounted on the AR15, it sounds like a .22lr to everybody. Really bizarre, is that when a 50 grain hollowpoint 5.56 hits a jack rabbit, there is a disgustingly loud smack, an "icky thump" if you will, that you normally cannot hear over the report of a rifle. I will never varmint hunt again with unsuppressed weapons. For the money, you cannot go wrong with an SAS can. It was my entry into NFA and now I have a TAC65 awaiting approval at my dealer right now. Everyone I have taken out with these cans has decided that they cannot live without one. Total price for mine was $800 with tax, transfer and shipping. That's the base price of other manufacturers. |
Thanks for the pic. Looks like a good FH anyway.
HA! I'd like to see anyone persuade our women to do anything. They might be able to beat our military, but our women are stone walls. |

Thanks for the great pictures, Steezo! Is that a threaded coupler with a thread-protector on that FH? Those are clean-looking suppressors. Anyone know if that 45 can is boosted? It seems short for a boosted can. This is the first I'd heard of SAS can. Thanks for the introduction! B. |

Bump for Tim's new site...and what looks like a bit of a price increase. www.sas-llc.us/ |
Gemtech HVT with quick mount is 28 oz, thread mount is 24 oz and the AAC 762-SD with mount is 22 oz. I'd be interested in hearing Tim's cans. Mark |

I have one of his 5.56mm cans and two QD's. He is a great guy to deal with and will customize your can to suit your needs. He setup the QD for my M4 to keep the barrel non-SBR and to backspace the can so that it only adds 4" to the OAL of the weapon. It's still quiet enough not to need ear-pro (which was the primary reason for a can on my patrol rifle). I had him make a standard QD for my 20" HBAR so that I could utilize the full volume of the blast chamber. The QD's are very effective Flash Hiders in their own right. If he gets the Ti Suppressors worked out, I may go to him for the can for my AR-10 SBR project. |
