| I'm looking around for a FAQ section but can't find one. I need to learn about supressors before attempting to buy one. My state is fond of banning things so I'd like to get one while I still can. I can't have one on my AR since it's not preban. I'm looking for ideas and info about other supressed rifles, maybe a bolt .223. So are supressors caliber specific? So I would need a .223 cal supressor? Any links and sites you can point me at would be great. Thanks. |

For the best performance, the suppressor should be specific to the caliber of the gun it is on. You can use a .308 suppressor on a .223, but the the .308 suppressor will typically be longer and heavier, but will give very good suppression. A .223 bolt action would be an excellent gun to suppress as it will seem quieter to the shooter than a AR due to the absence of action noise. Here are a couple of mfgs sites that I could recommend for .223 suppressors: SRT Hurricane AAC SWR Another excellent option might be a suppressed .308 bolt action rifle. Here is a photo of my Savage 110 with a AAC Cyclone suppressor. ![]() Or perhaps an integrally suppressed 44Mag bolt action: ![]() I don't know your state's laws, but the most fun suppressed rifle I have is a suppressed 10/22 or my bolt action CZ452 (photo is 452 and lever action Ruger) -- the ammo is cheap, it is Hollywood quiet, and accurate. ![]() Dave Brown |
