I am currently working on a 10.5" SBR. I plan on removing the A2 FH and installing a TROS 3-lug mount adapter onto the barrel. I can then quickly mount a Trident suppressor without having to thread it on. Should I use a crush washer, a peel washer, or no washer to install the 3-lug adapter? Would you explain why and how to correctly do so? Thanks.

P.S.  I first posted this question over in the 9mm AR forum and then figured this would be a more appropriate forum.

Most manufactures say not to use a crush washer because it could not cruch even,y and that could lead to baffle strikes.  If you need to time it use the peel washer.  If not just torque it against the shoulder of the barrel.

Sorry...yes it is a 9mm.  It seems as though I should not use a washer at all.  How do you correctly torque the adapter.  There is no way to "put a wrench or socket" on it.  It seems it could only be tightenend by hand.  Any suggestions.

I would tighten it by hand as tight as you can. Then if you have some soft jaws fror a vice, use that.

My favorite method is I thread on the adapter, then I put on the suppressor an "hand tighten" it again with the suppressor mounted. I have never had one come lose.

Be carefull the first time you put the 3 lug suppressor on the adapter. If you have to force it on (don't you will get it stuck) , give the manufacturer a call and they will tell you what to do.

I have done several of these. Clean out the threads and thread it on by hand to make sure it will go on all the way to the shoulder. Then I use permanent Loc-tite and screw it on all the way. I usually tape up the lugs and then tighten it with those Sears locking pliers. Have done this on a couple of Uzi barrels, as well as my Lage upper. Thousands of rounds through them without problem.

Dittos, including William and Henry. I wish we could do this in Texas.
