It works.

OK, I'll give a better report...

Went to the range Saturday (temp = Hot & Humid Mid 80's & 90% Humidity). Zeroed the Aimpoint at 50 Yards (without the can). Once zeroed, I attached the can and shot three rounds. The M4-2000 Mod 7 is a tad bit quieter than my AAC Ranger. The report from an unsilenced 10.25" Barrel is a little bit loud, but with the M4-2000 on, the sound of the bolt ejecting the extracting casing and slamming a new round into the chamber was more noticable than the report. The majority of the sound was the supersonic crack of the bullet in flight and a light thud as the bullet impacted into the berm a fraction of a second later. Noticed 1-2 inch drop POI between silenced and unsilenced at 50 Yards.

Had a lot of looks and smile from the range until the range officer came by and told me that they did not allow NFA items on their FUDD range. This was at ACS in Houston.

Here are the pictures from my original M4-2000 Mod 7 thread.

Ok, so you zeroed your Aimpoint with the can off.
Then you put the can on.
Did your point of impact change ?

Yep, I edited the original post to add this info. Basically it shot low 1-2" with the can. Not that big of a deal once you're familiar with the POI of your specific weapon/can. The POI was consistant as I took the can off and on several times to specifically test the POI.

Sorry about the Fudd range but congrats on the can. You need to find a new place to shoot. What kind of range doesn't allow NFA

The kind when the $6.00 / Hour Range Officers come up to tell you that you better not let anyone see that AR-15 with a barrel shorter than 16" and that illegal silencer.

ASC says it is a family range and they dont want to have those nasty NFA items there.  Does not matter if you are LE.  If you are military you can go shoot full auto for free and lay down anywhere on the 300 yard line and up that you feel like and even fire full auto.  Makes a ton of sense.

All that noise makes them feel more comfortable.
Quiet guns are evil.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but can AD military really do this at ASC in Houston?

I am military. Guess I'll go to the 300 yard range.

i'll NEVER understand a range that doesn't allow suppressors. as far as i can tell, every range in the US should be working together to get suppressors removed from the NFA registry.

eventually, most ranges are going to be shut down, and you know what the reason is going to be? noise...

Fudd's are willing accomplices to their own demise.  Said it before, & it bears worth repeating every time: if my stuff is ever made illegal, I won't lift one damn finger to help "them" when they become the political target.  Politicians always need a cause to rally the teeming idiot-masses around, & Fudds are fair game, whether they dare to believe it or not.

No middle ground: we either stand together, or hang separately.

ETA: Keeping in-line w/ the OP topic, how do you like the new-style Mod-7 mount?

Love it. Goes on easily and comes off easily as well, unless you've just ran a magazine of 5.56mm through the can.

Is this just due to the can being too hot to handle comfortably, or does the can stick on the mount when it's hot?

Did the finish darken up after a few mags?

It's just due to the can being too hot to touch. No sticking at all. I shot 3 full magazines through it and it didn't seem to darken at all. Of course I was also shooting slow, aimed shots so it might not have heated the can up fast enough to change the color.

I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying our products!  A lot of money and time was spent to bring the consumer the best we have to offer.  I appreciate everyone’s patience.

I personally love the SPR/M4 silencer.

Freddy,

Did you get a chance to check to see if my FH was sent? I received the M4-2000 WITHOUT a FH. The reason that I have one is because I had ordered an extra FH back in February and I received it a month before I received the can (without a FH). This is really not the case of "where's my can," but more of situation where a mistake was made of my can getting sent without a FH.

I have copies of both the cashed check for the can and one for the extra FH. If you need that I will e-mail it to you.

They have an agreement with the NG unit down the road and they cut off that side of the range and let them use the 300 and 400 yard lines and move up and down the range to get different ranges without moving laterally and I have seen them shoot 3rd burst.  One of the NG guys told me he got to shoot for free whenever he wanted.  You can ask if Active Duty gets to shoot for free or not.  My info was second hand.  My AR is both an SBR and suppressed.  I am double not allowed to shoot there.  It is ever dumber than no FMJ in the Dallas area.

There are lots of ranges in DFW that allow FMJ, and most also allow NFA.

I'll give it a try.  My rifle is an sbr and soon to be suppressed, so we'll see.
