I am attempting to select my first suppressor and have decided a .22 suppressor is the best start. I have read a bunch of these threads and have heard most of the arguements. I shoot a lot of .22 so I have decided I want a suppressor that disassembles. The TAC65 looks good except the aluminum threads (I have a lot of .22 to switch it around to). The ones that have caught my eye are the SRT Comanche, Tactical Inovations Quest and the First Freedom Arms .22 can. Anyone have experience with these models? What are the actual prices I can expect to pay for them and can someone recommend a dealer in FL where I can get one? Also I am a suppressor newbie so feel free to point out any error in me selection process I might be missing.

Consider the ETS Crusader, too

FA rated and disassembles.

I'm thinking of picking one of these up.

Looks interesting, do you have any info on it (price, specs, etc)? Do they have a website? (I didn't find one with google).

AAC has a great one that dis-assembles.  (why am i reminded of a pesky robot- "no disassemble...")

i'm actually in the market too.  i have a can for my 9mm (evo-9) and i think i'm going to get an AAC can for the .22lr also...  talk to bookhound or Allen-psi.  they're great dealers and will get you set up right.

Prodigy is the AAC can that comes apart for cleaning.  Nice can.

I do not believe the Prodigy is full-auto rated.  Baffles and tube are aluminum.

ZachH, to my knowledge, is the SOT manufacturer of those cans.  I've spoken with him on the phone (great guy!) and am doing a transfer of some of his cans for a local customer.  We're excited to see the cans.

OK I had thought so by past posts- but then the one about thinking about picking one up confused me.  I'm still on my first cup of coffee- go easy.

I choose the TacInc Quest.  I did so because of it's all stainless steel construction and because it can be disassembled for cleaning.  I would think you could screw up an aluminum tube a lot easier than steel one if you are not careful, especially during disassembly.  The weight difference is a few ounces.

On top of that, they(TAC) are a company who has been around for 13+ years.  Maybe not as long as some others, but certainly long enough to trust they will be around in the future.

The Prodigy seems to be pretty innovative as far as baffle design.  People are just ow getting them so we'll see reports of how they sound.  Bookhound has already posted some reports I think, either here or silencer talk.

These can are addictive.  So I'm sure I'll have more than 1.  I have 2 SBR, 1 Silencer and another on order and I just jumped into the NFA world in Dec.06.  I got it bad....LOL!!!

I'm glad to see AAC making a 22lr can that comes apart.  Maybe that will be a trend and Gemtech, SWR and the other big name suppressor mfg will follow suit.
