I have a friend that has a class II license.  Can I have him make the baffles for my suppressor without me being in his shop or do I have to be present during the construction?

I know if I have a machine shop make the baffles I have to be present.  I didn't know if that was different for someone that is licensed to make their own product or not.

I believe that since your friend is a C2 he can make the baffles and then install them in your can, I don't see any problem.

Personally I would play it safe and install them at his C2 licensed facility therefore he isn't delivering and you aren't picking up a bag of silencers(baffles).

I will be doing just that on my F1 suppressor.  A C2 will manufacture them for me and I will then install them in my can, my design!!  But it does take some of the fun of the F1 away, not making the baffles yourself......oh well though, at least you will know they are done right!

Most likely I will be doing some of the work in his shop with his oversight.  But at the moment I am working 15-18 hour days and don't have a lot of spare time to build a suppressor.  He offered to make the baffles for me but I wanted to get a second and third opinion.

Why bother with the F1?  Since he is a C2, I believe he just make the whole can in house, then F4 it to you.

I could but he is going to help me make the first baffle and I am going to do the rest using his machinery.  It will still cost me $200 plus parts no matter how I do it.  I am not going to sell it so I went the form 1 route.
