| I know 147 grain 9mm generally stay subsonic in handgun length barrles, but I have a 10.5 in. barrel on a 9mm AR SBR, will these loads generally stay subsonic with the longer barrel? Also I am looking into buying a can that will work well on both the AR and my MP5 and MP5K PDW. Both of the MP5's have three lug barrels. Based off of the information I have received from this board I am leaning towards to Gemtech Stricker II or the SWR Trident. I have no intention of shooting the can on a pistol, so the interchangability of the SWR is not a factor. I am looking exclusively for the quitest perceived can on the market. |

All 147gr ammo except for Winchester White Box stays subsonic in my MP5. I like American Eagle and Special K. The Striker II is a AAC suppressor and not a Gemtech. As for three lug cans for the guns you mentioned I would either do a SWR Trident or QD3K , a AAC Striker II or a Gemtech Raptor. The SWR QD3K is like the Trident but does not have interchangeable mounts. I have an SWR Trident and love it but you can not go wrong with any of those suppressors. |

Our experience is that in the longer barrel of a subgun, not all 147 gr commercial ammo remains subsonic. Please also remember that there is a LOT of flight noise in the transsonic region (within 7% of the speed of sound) that may actually be louder than the ballistic crack itself. Philip H. I own an SWR QD3K and use it in my M16/9. Unless you need the smaller size of the Striker I don't think it's worth considering. Sound wise the QD3K (and the Trident) are noticable quiter. I've never heard a Raptor so I can't comment on that one. |
