I have the Blackside on my USP Tactical. I think it's a great can, very quiet, and a great deal for $550. It's OK dry... stings my ears a little bit but wet it's incredible. My gun was new with the can so it was a little tight for the first hundred rounds or so and cycling wasn't reliable. I have about 1,000 rounds through the gun/blackside now and have only seen 2 stovepipes since the first 100 rounds. I would highly recommend this can. http://www.centekit.com/personal/images/blackside01.jpg -- bigbigpig |

i have a blackside and love it for the sound quality. i tried it on a new-ish glock 21 without very good results, up to 500 rounds it was still not cycling reliably. next i tried it on my HK compact 45 with even worse results. the best pistol is my kimber 1911. absolutly 100% happy with that set up. the cool thing with the 1911 is that the gun is so heavy i hardly notice the can on the end. i have a freind with a blackside on his HK tactical, he liked it so well he sold his KAC can! i have evo45 as well and they are very similar is sound quality, from a shooters perspective. if you really want a quiet 45 can, wait until aac comes out with thier new 45 can next year. www.silencertests.com/silencer-forum/viewtopic.php?t=4859

They're awesome cans. I think I'll be picking one up. The USPs can be harder to cycle than some other guns. Lots of folks don't really care about that, since they just use suppressors as range toys. Just think of it as an opportunity to practice failure drills. ![]() I have an EVO 45 that I'm pretty happy with. No cycling issues there, but it's a bit bigger than the blackside (I think.) |

im sure that the AAC will be a great can but, is it really 700 dollars better, while numbers have been qouted as simalar to the mp5SD, has anybody seen a first hand comparison of the two? the numbers seem great, i like aac but i dont know if i like them 700 dollars more |
if reliability is your main concern buy the AAC. My suppressors are toys I use at the range. My Glock 21 will stovepipe sometimes w/blackside, but for the cost difference I dont mind taking the 2 seconds to clear the malfunction. |

even a standard evolution 45 can will have a LID and will cycle any pistol you put it on and the cost is a lot closer to the normal rate for a 45 silencer. i think i paid 800 for my evo45. in a few weeks i'll have a evo45-sof which is a little shorter than normal but will make for a nice reliable and compact unit once its home on the hk compact. i know they are louder but that was not a deciding factor for the purchase. size was important on this one. |

what, i think i may do is go with a blackside and see what happens when the AAC comes out, isnt AAC planning to have these ready for the ShotShow? considering i wont bepursuing another contract overseas for at least 8 months, this will be fine for now, given that the GI Bill only covers so much I may have to wait untill im back overseas to pursure the AAC, |

I have fired the Blakside on my USP-T and it is a great can, very light. I had no problems with it functioning the pistol. That said, I could not see or hear that much difference between it and my SOS-45 when wet (the Blackside replaced the SOS-45). The LID on my SOS-45 makes the can longer and a bit heavier, but there was not enough difference to make me want to switch, and the LID will run my USP with any load I give it, no matter how light. One thing is for certain, Gemtech has one of the very best customer service attitudes I have ever dealt with. My $.02's... B |
