I live in the country but I still have neighbors and my backyard AR play is loud as hell. A supressor could make my AR more shootable around the house.

Where should I look to spend my money? If you had to lend advice based on your experiences obtaining a can what would it be? I am under the impression the tax stamp is around $200. I am unaware of any additional fees that may go with obtaining a class III item such as this.

Thanks,

Gunzer

Yeah - ditto.  I'd like to know the "skinny" on getting a suppressor legally too.

It couldn't be simpler.  Just find a class III dealer near you that has the suppressor you want.  The dealer will take care of the ATF paperwork, and will give you tips on how to get local LE signoff easiest.

I have a Gemtech Halo on my AR, and I like it a lot.  It mounts  on any AR with an A2 flash suppressor, so it is easy to move from rifle to rifle.

One thing to consider: the source that I checked said that one must be an FFL holder in North Carolina in order to own suppressors.

It's kind of funny how this works.

My buddy has a house where he used to shoot .22lr handguns, and the we got into suppressors, now he acts like its a stretch to shoot something that isn't subsonic at his house.
