Why do E.A. recievers have little clips on the pins for the fire control mechanism?

If its what I recall seeing, there are some aftermarket pins like that, which you could install to prevent the pins from creeping out.. on a properly maintained rifle, this should not be a problem.

thanks, they look like little rings that stretch open on one side then close around the pin in a groove ground in the pin
