I understand that I can buy a 9mm upper, put some sort of device in my mag well and convert my AR15 into a 9mm. Advantage being able to shoot at the indoor pistol range I belong too. Can anyone give me some detail on what's involved and aprox. price? I have a new Bushy XM15E2S. Thanks in advance |

Yes, you can get a 9mm upper for your AR and have nothing else to change but mags & ammo. You can use a magwell insert such as a the SOCOM mag block or available are 9mm mags that have a block already attached to the back of it and act more like a std. AR mag. There a couple of other mag/mag block custom setups being produced also. Olympic Arms 9mm upper is in the $450 - $500 range and the mag/mag block availability is a little better than the others. Go down to the Rimfire & Pistol Calibers forum for more info - www.ar15.com/forums/forum.html?id=15 |
| IMHO, that price is a bit steep and not too practical to just go pop off a few rounds at the range every now and then. If you are that interested in range time, then take a pistol and save your money. Or, if you feel led to blow $500 on your AR, then buy some cool stuff for it. |
I agree. I'll probably save up for a pre-ban green lable if I can find one in good shape. I've got 4 .45s that take up most of my range time anyway. 3 HKs and a Wilson. Thanks for the info!
