Guys, due to the fact that I have an awesome wife. I have been given a choice for my birthday. A Mossberg model 590A1 military,an IAI .30 M1 Carbine, or an Armalite M15A4T upper....  I am leaning toward the Mossberg
but want to know what you guys would do...

I'd say the 590A1 but what is your current AR upper first?

Ask her if you can have all three, and when she says no, compromise for 2 of the three.

The M1 would make a nice plinking rifle...

I would take the M1 carbine.

I have a Rem. 870 with 20" barrel (and a 28" tube, as well), so I don't NEED another shotgun.

I sure wouldn't mind the M15A4T upper...But I've lusted after an M1 Carbine for many, many years. I'd rather go for another gun than just ½ of one.

Get that with your tax return later.

I would probably say the M1 Carbine also.  But I would always suggest that you get the gun FIRST which most likely to be banned or restricted.

Pump-action shotguns aren't likely to be restricted anytime soon.

AR15 uppers aren't regulated at all, as they aren't guns in and of themselves (though that COULD change) and there are many manufacturers.

There is only 1 (practical) source of new M1 Carbines, and being a centerfire semi-auto, hi-cap-mag-fed rifle makes it a political target.
