[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Cast receivers??

I just read the review of a DPMS Lo-Pro carbine in American Rifleman. It stated that the lower was a cast piece & the upper was an aluminum alloy extrusion.

Any other manufacturer use cast lowers or uppers??

Aren't Bushmaster & Armalite upper & lowers forged??

What about Olympic?

only the "plinker" model ($599) on the olympics use a cast lower. everything else is forged. not sure about the uppers though

DPMS also has forged and stainless recievers. depends on what you think you need
