Calico is making the 100 round 9mm again, I think.
Anyone have experience with this?  Not the one of old but the new production.

Tag for interest.  I was not aware they were back in production

Other than some optional railed forends, looks like the same old design to me.

After years of toying with the idea I just recently SBR'd my 9mm Liberty carbine, I need to take some pics of it.

Good news, looks like they will have a .40 sw version in 2010.

All joking aside, I have 4 of the older models (all purchased at least 13 years ago), and they have all been great.

I have never in my life felt an urge to buy a calico... but that Liberty III tactical is kinda calling to me, lol.

No experience with the new, but had a 9mm model back in the day.  I never could get it to cycle properly and traded it for something else at a gun show.

Next thing you know, they will bring back the Wilkinson "Linda".

I have never heard anyone aside fromGreyKnight say anything positive about a Calico

That was one of the first guns I wanted as a kid, hindsight I'm glad I was a kid and couldn't buy it .

I remember a demo they did at Quantico/FBI way back when that was pretty impressive...make sure you buy one of his hand-crank loaders...just saying...

The .22s were finicky, but I've had a couple of 9mm and never had any problems with them.

I believe the owner died. they were made in my hometown, had one...seemed decent.

I had one of the .22s way back when. Took it from the gunshop to the range and right back to the gunshop. I couldn't get more than a few rounds through it before a malfunction. I wouldn't ever consider another .22 but I would give a 9mm a shot.

Yup, the .22s, especially the older version, needed some attention to run well. On mine, lube it well, run copper jacketed ammo, and most importantly, be careful loading the mag, just a little misalignment led to a jam. Following these steps, I end up with a jam every 400-500 rounds.

All of my 9mm's have been about 100% with nothing but standard lubrication. They run fmj, hp, even some cast lead a couple times. I really think most of the hate came from people hearing someone talk about the .22 and just assuming they were all like that.

One of my .22 mags is bad, but I had no idea replacement parts were available.  I guess while I'm ordering parts I might as well get the smoke shells for the mags.

I had one back in the early 90's.  It ran well.  Fun to shoot.  Accurate.  It did have some FTF, but it had more to do with the magazine loading.  If you didn't wind it correctly, or over wind it.  The 50 round worked better.

Overall, I would do it again if lived in the US.
