Just curious, is there a Thompson SMG, and/or their semi-auto Auto Ordnance cousins' discussion board?

Always liked those ...

Nope, but here's as good a place as any.  I owned a class three '28 West Hurley gun.  It was a blast, but it ate a hole in my wallet at the time.  Hell, it'd still be eating holes in my wallet if I still had it.  It worked great, smooth as silk, and was a blast to shoot.  Not exactly high-tech, but the truly amazing designs remain functional and effective.  My Tompson certainly was!

It's too bad I can't own a working semiauto Auto Ordnance copy of the Thompson here in CA.  However, a replica (non-gun) is OK to have.  I just can't see spending $500 on a non-working display model, though.

I handled one a year ago at a gun show in AZ ... boy that was cool.  As a boy, I saw "the Sarge" on "Combat" haul around his M1A1 and thought it'd be cool to have one!

Outside of SARCO, whom else carries non-working Thompsons?

I've got an Auto Ordnance Thompson, and have had a lot of problems with it.

I sent it back to Kahr, because the bolt and the lower reciever had cracks in them after only 500rnds of factory ammo. To name a few.

The original and the Kahr, Thompsons have nothing in common other than looks.
