So I mentioned this in GD, but this may be a better place.
Has anyone else noticed the new market trend seems to be complete stand alone uppers, purpose built piston systems, but designed to fit on a M16/M4/AR lower? Things like the SERBU SU-15, ARAK-21, SIG MCX, etc. I for one am super excited for this maket trend and feel like it could be the future of the M16/M4 platform. Some of these uppers are offering true improvements over what can be had in the AR. Things like better designed bolts, carrier built onto rails, folding stock systems, and most importantly they can be had for the cost of AR uppers generally. Just seems like the most logical advancement for the AR platform is to move to a dedicated upper receiver so only half of the gun needs replacement. |
