I'm not sure I see what's wrong here. Mentally adjudicated are supposed to be in NICS, but many are not.

Can anybody explain how this becomes some nefarious plot to register and grab guns?

Military members and veterans that have been treated for PTSD and other disorders but are not a danger to themselves are now being asked to turn their guns in via letter from the VA.  Tinfoil enough?

I retract above statement to state that the VA has been sending letters making a person incompetent in handling their VA affairs, which in turns in to being medical incompetent to handle ones affairs which in turn = gun confiscation.

Quite a stretch. A VA 'letter' does not equal *adjudication*.
