I love my Remington 700 chambered in 30-06 for deer hunting in WI and usually use 180 or 165 grain Winchester Super X. This has worked great for me every year, I've taken many deer and with a good shot placement they don't run too far.
But I'm wondering what other loads I should consider for other game and applications? Target loads, small to medium game, big game (moose, elk, sheep, bear)? Give me some ideas and reccomendations. Thanks. |

Nosler Accubond is a good bullet for just about anything.
Sort of an improved, second-gen Partition bullet. Basically combines the Partition design with the Ballistic tip. Seems to solve the over-penetration problem Partitions can occasionally have on medium game. For plinking I use the Nosler/Winchester CT bullets now. With that coating they put on there you can shoot all day and not spend all weekend scrubbing out copper fouling. |
