First my Appolgies on the Photos but it was DARK   yes dark a We were succesfully using a Chronograph the Cool ne inovation from the Fine Folks over at Brownells / Sinclair

You can read all about it on the MFG web site but I think it a great new product for
anyone who wants to use a chrony in any weather, in any light condition, with out ever having to wait for an opening to go down range, or if you just dont like tha hastle of tring to get it lined up JUST RIGHT  to make it work not to mention shooting the Damn thing by mistake.

I will follow up with more details in a couple weeks but for now I'm smiling.

They make two models I chose the one for use with a Brake and larger barrel options

Here are the links

There was a thread about these In the reloading forum a couple weeks ago. Looks like a pretty cool item. Only big downside I can see is that there's really no way to use it with semi automatic pistols.

I would think, mount the chrono to a shooting vise and then align and shoot over it with the pistol.
Similar to how a traditional chrono would be used but with more restrictive requirements. This looks like a nice birthday present for dad (me).

Neat.  I've owned a chrony for years, but was always concernerd with using it too close to the barrel.

I didn't know brownells had picked those up. I got one from my wife for Christmas. It is from magneto speed. And it is phenomenal.

I always put off buying a chronograph because they are a pain to set up. And they are too finicky.

The magneto speed you just strap on to your suppressor, takes about 5 minutes to setup, you don't ever need to call a cold range etc, and it is not impaired by any weather or lighting.

Just an excellent little package. Love mine. It is the v2, designed to mount on a suppressor just as easily as a barrel. Only downside right now is that it can't be used with semi auto pistols.

This one works differently than normal ones. The bayonet, the thing mounted to the barrel/can, generates 2 magnetic fields and that is how it measures velocity.

Looks cool!

that said I'm sure it'll be banned as a "thing that goes up" by freakenstine.

I figured it had to be induction or a similar method, because optical chrony's would be triggered by the blast instead of the bullet..
