Harbor Freight - go get yourself a cheap angle grinder.
Then, you can easily shorten the barrel to any length you want. **WARNING** If you accidentally cut it less than 16", make sure you weld some nails or bolts to the end of the barrel to bring it up to length. Or, if you are careful you could stack (weld) nuts on the end of the barre, just make sure the hole is bigger than the bullet. Make sure you run a 1/4" drill bit into the muzzle of the barrel to clean out any extra welding material - don't worry about the rifling it's over rated. Then cut some long flutes along the barrel. Try to keep a steady hand, or not. Or better yet, make random cuts all over the barrel at different angles for a new look!!! (Actually, that may look kind of cool if you do this to a stainless barrel, paint it, then sand / buff the paint off the high spots.) Or... k, I'm done.
