Being bored, the kid and I decided to go out and do some pistol practice in the back yard with a couple airguns and airsoft pistols. It was my 5 y/o's first time with any kind of pistol, and he got to learning how to load, operate, and fire the airsoft gun quickly. He went from 4' groups at 7yds to 12." I took some shots of opportunity at a wasp nest and knocked a couple lizards off the fence with the airsoft M9. Those little guys are pretty tough. They ran off after being momentarily stunned.

I'm allergic to bee stings. I think I found a new, safe (and fun) disposal method.

Makes me want to get my butt in gear and finally order the seals for this thing:

This saw some action as well:

All the reviews of the Tempest site poor accuracy. Nobody mentions that the sights really suck! There's a mile of space between the rear sight opening and the front blade. I'll have to fix that some day.

Another shot of my cut-down Backpacker:

The kid calls it the "Star Wars the Clone Wars gun."

Shooting is a good time regardless of caliber and power level. It's nice to get back to the basics every now and then. I can go for months not shooting rifle and am none the worse. Pistol shooting, however, is a perishable skill for me.

I have that same air pistol.  Got it as a kid and it still works great today.  So many childhood memories every time I handle that thing.
