I used to be really anal about cleaning my guns, all of them. Recently though i've been letting them stay dirty after shooting them.

Question is, if I don't clean the barrels would this cause problems down the line. I don't shoot corrosive ammo or anything

Thanks
Paul

No, I don`t clean mine either. I just run a bore snake through them 2 times & inspect & lube a little. I`ve never had any problems. Been doing it this way for years.

.22lr are easier to get the lead fouling out while they are still a little on the warmer side.

Other than that.......

I only clean my 5R, everything else stays "dirty".

I used to be pretty anal about cleaning my firearms.  I was one of those "the sun never sets on a dirty rifle" type of guys.  Those days are gone, nowadays I have no problem letting the majority (but not all) of my firearms sit uncleaned for extended periods of time.

I don't clean range toys, just add clp to keep it wet. It self cleans

I do clean and inspect belt feds and my "primary" HD weapons.

YMMV

I don't have time or safe space for guns that don't work when they are dirty.

My competition shotgun gets cleaned once a year whether it needs it or not...that's about a 25K round interval.

The Buckmark is about the only one that gets extra attention.  It starts getting iffy after about 1000 rounds of bulk pack.

I *hate* cleaning the ARs.  They get hosed with brake cleaner and snaked once in a blue moon.

I have a Ruger 10/22 from the 80's that's never been cleaned.

I couldn't remember how to take it apart so I got on line to see how as I thought I forgot how to clean the rifle ,but then realized I have never taken it apart.
Still didn't clean it I just sprayed some more lube and it's good.

Not cleaning them may result in: hemorrhoids, fainting, 4 hour erections, blurred vision and worst of all, nightmares of your DI screaming at you for having a dirty weapon.

Besides, if you don’t clean them regularly, how are you going to be familiar enough with them to; safe, field strip, reassemble, and function check them in 3 min. blindfolded?
