10x fixed MIL dot scope with mil/mil reticle and turret

suggestions?

so far all i've found is the super sniper, bushnell elite tactical and a few others
I'm liking the bushnell elite tactical 10x40 mil but i'm unnerved by the low price. I want something that can take a little abuse, that retains it's zero and is durable/reliable.

$500+/- price range

The Bushnell 10x40 has a very good rep as an excellent scope for the money.  I have had one for several years now and am very satisfied with it.

If you ever decide to go with a variable, this is an exceptional scope for the coin:

Just something else to consider.

My first choice would be the SWFA.  The HD model is considerably higher in price.  I would also call to make sure they had in in stock if that is the way you decide to go.  The non HD SWFA model is only 299.99.  Their turrets do track well.

I have a Bushnell Elite and managed to drop my AR off the bench landing on the front of the scope.  It hit so hard it bent the tube and the only way to stop it from being a paper weight was to find the high spot and whack it with a rubber mallet to bring it back in line.  I did, and it did.  Now I am back on target again and it holds zero.

That seems to be rugged enough.

The SWFA Super Sniper is the choice you hear when people are looking for a good fixed 10x at a reasonable price. The people at SWFA are real stand-up folks too.

You might also ask in the optics sub-forum or ask a mod to move this.

Ok so I am pretty sure I want the swfa super sniper mil dot mil/mil

Will the mils be accurate on a 16x or 20x scope?
i remember reading that the mils are only accurate at 10x

I want to mount it on a remington 700 sps tactical so what mount base and rings should I get? or at least which height?

The mils are correctly calibrated on all the fixed power scopes.

Mount wise, what are you wanting to put it on?

So far this is the conclusion I have come to:

Somebody out there has to have this set up.

Remington 700 sps tactical heavy bull barrel

I'm going to use a 20 moa picatinny base, swfa ss 16x mil/mil. The bell diameter is 49.5mm

so which height ring should I get. I'm looking at the Warne rings

Medium or low rings.  Medium height will work for sure.

I just got the Bushnell Elite 3200 10x40 from Midway for $199 and will send in the rebate form when the scope arrives Monday.

holy crap, that's a good deal!

I already have this scope in a mil/moa and it has performed admirably on an AR waiting for the SWFA 5-20x50.  I doubt you could possibly find another new scope for $125 as good as this.  You should get it and move it to a .22 trainer if you ever want something nicer.

ETA Scope already here after ordering Monday night - Midway ships fast and it was free basic shipping!
