| Wal-Mart will be stocking Bushmaster Patrolman carbines later this month. As I understand the price will be just under $900. Some of the stores are already carrying base model S&W 15-22s with 10 round mags. How quickly things can change. |

Living in NJ, I barely remember when Walmart and K-Mart sold guns. My father bought my first .22 from K-Mart. Ammo, I believe was shipped out with the guns (or shortly thereafter).
Out of all the big name stores, only Dick's Sporting Goods and the new Cabelas sell ammo and guns. There was one Sports Authority that kept their FFL, which was about a half hour from my house, but I haven't looked to see if they still have it (I can travel to two different Dick's Sporting Goods under the time it takes me to get out to them). The ones that don’t sell guns removed everything but basic accessories (cleaning stuff, cheaper slings, etc). |

About half the Wal-Marts as I understand carry guns, rifles and shotguns. I personally do not know of any that carry handguns at this time. In the last year or so Wal-Mart has been expanding their selection of ammo and firearms in a number of their locations. I'm in Kentucky and Wal-Mart does a very good business in their firearms departments.
Prices at individual stores will vary some with regard to ammo and firearms. |

Depends on the state.
I've seen guns in MaoMarts in DE, but MD has so many screwed up laws they just bagged them in all the MD stores that I've seen. I've also seen MaoMarts in TN that actually had a map of the US with states colored green all over the place. Said if you lived in one of these states, you could buy at that WalMart. |

Wal-Mart in Elkton, MD sells rifles/shotguns. |

I notice that out local wally world has holsters/ single point slings from blackhawk I would love to see some Quality AR15 & parts and LE handgun ammo Hell my old WM in IN sold handguns |
| The Wal Mart in California, MD sells only rifles, shotguns, and ammo: the process of buying an assault weapon in Maryland is cumbersome (factory-supplied expended cartridge, three forms to fill out, State Police approval process, and seven day waiting period), so I don't expect Wal Marts in Maryland to sell AR15s anytime soon. |

As far as i know, every N.C. walmart west of Charlotte to the Tennessee line sells at least shotguns, a few carry rifles, mostly bolt action hunting rifles, but sometimes you can find a Mini-14 in the mix.
I love my state, even the Democrats have guns here
:EDIT: Fixed a typo |

Some Walmarts carry guns, some carry just ammo, and some carry only sling shots, I guess it depends on the area you live. 2x To add something. my local store WANTS guns but the normal guy that works days in the sporting section says they cant find a manager that can handle guns sells. Not sure if they have to have someone special to do the back-ground paperwork? Walmart is weird like that. But this same store has a great selection of ammo and usually has some in stock of each kind. I do love that there are some Walmarts out there that will make the leap to a "scary" gun. I hate getting looks like I am a crazy person because I have a black rifle. I like getting the looks like I am a crazy person because I jog with it. ![]()

They just started selling guns locally, though every Walmart in the state is retarded. They sell hunting type bolt guns and 30-30 lever guns, but we can't use them to hunt with here anyway. The bolt guns should be heavy barrel for bench shooting, and the lever guns should be in pistol calibers for deer season.
The local store made it clear they WILL NOT sell "assault weapons" when they came under fire in the media at the time of their licensing. Of course they could be smart enough to secretly understand that an assault weapon does not semi-auto make. |

Ammo only here too. Bad selection at that. Same here. I don't frequent Walmart because of this. BiMart is the last of the chain stores near me that still has the backbone to sell guns, decent ammo and reloading supplies. Competitive pricing on much of it. They even sell Fed 5.56 in bulk on stripper clips, in ammo cans. That said I use mail order a lot to serve my needs for harder to find stuff. |
Three area stores carry firearms and only one carries just ammo. I have bought three guns and lots of ammo from Walmart. They had the best price I could find on the guns by far and their ammo is cheaper than anywhere too. You have to find ammo on sale with free shipping online to beat their store price. I was at my local Walmart when they un-boxed the Bushmaster. They were like oh my, an assault rifle.

all the ones here in MN i have only seen a small selection of ammo. Haven't seen any guns for sale at walmart since about 7 years ago. I'm guessing you are shopping stores deep in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Any MN Walmart I go into has the U-shaped sprorting goods counter with a plexi-glass enclosed revolving display rack on each end. I can't say I've seen much for EBRs except S&W 15-22s. Fleet Farm is another major department store here in the upper mid-west. They've always carried guns but they appear to be jumping into the tactical/defense guns in a big way. They just put in a counter display case and filled it with handguns 6-8 weeks ago. Also advertising as the exclusive dealers of "Huldra" ARs which are made by Adams Arms. |

| I haven't purchased anything from the local Wally World since they started selling guns again, but it looks like they installed some sort of touch screen device at the U shaped counter. I heard it's used to fill out an electronic version of the 4473 form. Is this correct? |
| I went to two walmarts today looking for the awsome american eagle 5.56 ammo. The first one had no ammo I was looking for, no ARs on the shelf. The second one had a bushmaster patrolman carbine on the shelf, along with lots of the particular ammo I was looking for. They were busy or I would have asked to look it over, curious as to the quality of bushmasters since they moved from ME. |
