Ok, I'm new to bolt gun shooting. I was just trying to bore sight my Remington 700 chambered for .300 Win Mag and I ran out of adjustment to the left... The scope is properly seated. It's a Tasco scope. Aside from criticizing the brand of scope, does anyone have any suggestions?

I have very basic mounting rings. They have to room for adjustment... I think it just falls back on the fact that the scope is a Tasco. I need a better brand of scope. Any suggestions? I don't have a ton of money to spend. I was looking in the $200 range... Redfield Revolution or Nikon Prostaff. |
| could first line it up by pointing the rifle at a target and looking at it throw the barrel and seeing if the scope is at the same target and then tightening your rings down and then fine tune from there. Or you could get a laser bore sighter and lining it up from there. ORRRRRR you could get a Redfield Revolution (on sale right now). |
| It is not likely the brand of scope is the cause of your problem. I highly suspect this is a mounting issue, or something is wrong with the bore sighting setup. Please post clear pics. of your scope and mount combo. There are too many different types of scope mounts for us to know how to help you when you say you have very basic mounting rings. |
