| For some reason I've been really wanting a 30/30 have no idea why. Don't know anything about them but the bare basics. Which ones are the better ones. Price no more than 500. looked at a couple used winchesters for 375 today at local gun shop. |

Following manufactuers market a lever action 30 WCF.
Marlin 336 <$500 Mossberg 464 <$500 Henry Big Bore >$500 Winchester 94>$500 Used gun rack millions of Winchester 94s and Marlins. Mossberg had a 30-30 that look like the Marlin 336 before (current one looks like the Winchester), Savage 99 and a few others. Go with what feels good to you and handles well. CD |

CD Marlin 30AS is also a way to save money with a hardwood stock. |
| I have an old Sears Ted Williams 30-30 Bought it for $150.00 a bunch of years ago. First time out first shot took the x out at 100yds. Have not been able to do that again. Winchester made these for sears. Nice gun dose kick alittle. I just put a williams peepsight on it. Have not had a chance to go shoot it. Soon |

I wish that deal was available locally. |

While for a new marlin that is a decent deal, I would recommend going used from a pawn shop. Around here most pawn shops have used marlins and winchesters on the rack for $200 or so on up. Get a reciever peep site for it, put on a sling and buttcuff to hold rounds and be done with it. |
| I love my Marlin 336C, I shoot it more often than I do my AR, it's just such a fun rifle. Trigger is anything but great but it's not supposed to be and they have nice aftermarket triggers. I have XS sights and just got an extended eye relief scope and scout mount for it to have even more fun. Look around and you can find 336's at good prices. |
