OICW
Hey all. I came across this picture just now and was looking at it and realized its still an AR with lots of plastic and 80's-90's flare. I just find it ironic to think how most of the AR's in this forum are more advanced than the OCIW. GOD BLESS AMERICA! |

yup a colossal waste of tax payers money. Originally a modular design with a main 20mm controlled burst launcher, and a removable "kinetic" lower (basically a very stripped down g36). Originally intended for the future warrior project, the only piece left in development to my knowledge is the main burst weapon dubbed the XM-25.
That thing looks like a frigg'n boat anchor. The french are also developing something similar with their famas platform called FELIN. It probably comes with a pop up white flag |

GOD BLESS AMERICA! the optic on it was pretty advanced as far as the integrated range finder goes. would be a neat conversation piece to pull out at the range! |

Quoted:
The grenade-launcher portion has been made into a stand-alone weapon Yup. For one thing, U.S. special forces will be given a new supergun this summer, the XM25 grenade-launcher, which is capable of showering the Taliban with grenades from more than 700 meters away.
