Anyone have any experience with one of these? I like the fact that they use AR mags, and it must be accurate if their rimfire offerings are any indicator.  It kinda seems like what I wish the Mini-14 was.  An accurate piston driven rifle that allows a scope to be mounted closer to the bore relative to AR style semi-autos.  I just can't find much user info on these. I am mainly interested in the .204 version.

For two grand, I'd rather buy something like a SCAR or ACR...or 2 more AR15s.

Great concept, though, and a slick looking rifle, but too much for what it is.

If it is Volquartsen, I bet it is a quality piece.  I have no hesitation purchasing something from them if it catches my interest.  Neat looking rifle, but just not my cup of tea.

Well, I guess I'm just looking for a new direction to go.  I just completed my 3rd and 4th AR(a MGI 7.62x39 and a DI 45acp AR pistol).  I'm just waiting for approval on the suppressors on these two.  I had a mini-30 up until last year and liked it a lot.  The only reason I sold it was because it started to FTE because of a worn extractor from all the steel cased ammo.  I lost all confidence in its reliability after this.  The Volquartsen just seems sleeker and less bulky than the SCAR, ACR, and even the AR.  I know the Mini-30 felt less bulky compared to any of my AR's.  But I do have to admit, I wish the price was a little closer to the $1,500 dollar range.

My buddys father in law bought one and I got to handle it for a bit. Heavy! His was in .204, I'll see if I can't get some info from him about how it shoots

I would really appreciate that.

My only experience with Volquartsen is with their 10/22 stuff. After I got a standard 10/22T and started monkeying with all the stock parts, my buddies went out and did the same. The one guy that bought a full on Volquartsen (he's loaded) was the worst shooter of the bunch. That being said, it was a good shooting rifle, but not as good as what we were able to do by massaging stock parts or buying aftermarket.
