From what I can tell it's a sporterized No. 1 Mk. 3*. It's not terribly done, looks like they tried to keep a pseudo-military look to it. I cannot tell the year from looking at it, you should be able to find that on the rifle (under that paint).
If the bore's good I'd say $150 is fair. It's certainly not a collector's piece, but it will make a good practical rifle. Mount a QD swivel and stick a Harris on there. |

Maker mark should be on the receiver under the bolt knob. |

The crest, initials, and year will tell you when it was made. And if the year is late enough then it might be an Ishy.
Based on experience I have to say check the magazine spring. I bought an Ishy with a broken mag spring. They are easy enough to find and replace. |

thanks guys! yeah, he didnt get it for collecting, its for practical use. and it fired great. the magazine spring does infact feel rather shitty, and hes probably going to get a replacement, as well as a few more magazines. the stamp on the side says that it is a NO1 MK3, made in India. how would he go about mounting a sling swivel on there for a bipod? -Joe |
