[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Need Help selecting a 30mm optics mount

I have a leopold scope I would like to mount on a 20" Colt Hbar upper that has the front sight. . I saw the Arms #22 rings which come low, medium , and high, the Armalite 30mm scope mount, and the LaRue SPR/M4 Scope Mount QD, 1.5, which is pricy. Are there any others, and please eleborate on the 3. Which will clear the front sight post better, or is it a real issue?

I would use the Armalite Mount or spring for the Larue.

Is there anything I should know about the Aramlite mount? Just asking....

one piece RRA for $55 at pkfirearms;
burris 1 piece AR PEPR extended for $80 at midway;
burris extreme tactical picatinny high/extrahigh rings $60 at midway;
millet angleloc/windage adjustable weaver/picatinny steel $30.

have used all, they all work well.

I really like the Armalite one piece mount. It is made in both 1" & 30mm. Have one on a Bushmaster Varminter and it is rock solid, been on the gun 5 years.
The height seems perfect for me.

Excellent quality. Not quite tall enough to clear a Troy Folding Rear Site if you use caps on the scope.
