A friend of mine has a Remington Derringer he is wanting to part with & we know nothing about it SO I am looking for info, value etc... etc... SER# is 1072 it is .41 caliber. The metal has some finish wear but very little pitting. The bores are rough but you can still see the rifling.

These are generally 41 rimfire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.41_Rimfire_Cartridge) which is very hard to find. The hinges on these guns have a tendency to crack I can't tell from the picture but look at them closely if you don't want a law suit from the purchaser . The pictures show that the ejector is missing and the bore is very rough. It will be a very hard sell to even a collector. If it was in better shape you might find a buyer on the SASS website. You might post it there anyway somebody might want it for parts. If the grips are real Ivory they will be worth more than the gun.

Good eye he told me about the ejector but I forgot it is rimfire and the hinge is not cracked (that I can see). What idea of value? Grips are plastic.

Depends on when it was made. These were made from 1866 to 1934.  There were 4 types during that time period.  The early versions  had the makers name and patent date stamped between the barrels. Type 2 and newer on the top. See if you can post all of the wording on top of the barrels, It might help to determine what generation it is. Also do the firing pins cycle properly when cocking the hammer, It should cycle either the top then the bottom when the trigger is pulled.
