They were calling it the RX4 when Beretta was comaking this rifle.  Beretta a few years ago decided to drop the rifle, and Benelli fully picked her up.
MSRP $1299  , yes please

My Uncle has a Benelli R1 in .308 and I have to say it is not a very good shooter.

I love Benelli shotguns to death, but their hunting rifles are nowhere near as good as their shotguns.  My Uncles R1 is a about a 3 MOA shooter.  Compare that to the HK 770, SL7, SLB2000 or Browning BAR Shortrac which are MOA.

So if RX4 shoots anything like the R1 I say PASS!!!!

As an R1 owner, I can tell you that is not right. Something is wrong with his gun or he is a terrible shot.

My R1 can do .5 MOA with 180grn Remington core-lokt.

Maybe it was the gun, maybe the ammo (Federal 150gr)  doubt it.   I shot the gun, and the accuracy was nothing to be impressed with, IMO the R1's accuracy was very inconsistent.

Not saying we are the best shots in the world but owning more semi auto hunting guns than the average shooter and being a fan of the old classic HK semi auto hunting rifles of which we own 10 of them, I was excited to see another semi auto hunting rifle to compete with Remington (which I hate) and Browning.
The Benelli R1 was attractive because it had a detachable mag (unlike browning) it was light weight (unlike Remington) and it was made by the best semi auto shotgun maker Benelli.  On top of all that the R1 30'06 could accept a factory 10 round mag.

Personally, I thought the R1 would shoot like my HK SLB2000 30'06.  The HK SLB2000 is an ugly "crossman" looking rifle....but it can shoot.  That is a sub MOA shooter with Winchester SilverTips.  But my Uncle's R1 would not hold a consistent group, what I mean by that is the rifle would have a nice two shot group but the third shot was a flyer.

From 2006 to 2008 I used to work at the local gun shop and I personally know of six Benelli R1 owners, who like me are diehard fans of Benelli shotguns that were disappointed with their Benelli R1 rifles.  And I don't blame them; R1s command a very premium price.

Back in 2007 I shot a customer's brand new camo Browning LongTrac .270 which he said was jamming.  I shot the gun on my day off; put two boxes through the gun for accuracy and "rapid fire" for function.  The rifle's action was flawless and the accuracy was sub MOA, on top of that the LongTrac sell for $400 less than the R1.

If your R1 shoots 1/2 MOA count yourself as a lucky R1 owner because you are not the norm.  Do a quick Google search on R1 accuracy and you will see the norm is from Outdoorlife was 2.89 inches, Guns & Ammo 1.25 to 1.5 inches, and Rifleshooter's review best group was over 1 inch.

Here is what I hope the Benelli R1 would rival, but it didn't
