I've got a remmy 700 XCR 300 win mag (the long range tactical)

It's got a burris xtreme base on it and I'm putting a millet 4-16x50 on there. (30mm main tube)

what height rings (burris xtreme) would be best on there? low, med, or high???

I'm guessing med...

Looks like you need .300" minimum. Many medium rings will get you there, but I'd check the individual rings you want to use to be sure.

is there an easy way you have to tell how much "lift" you need off the receiver, or is it gun specific? The med rings are 1/2" rise, I can't find what the rise is on the burris xtreme base...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it a good idea to keep the scope as low as possible without touching the barrel?

Imma call burris and see if they have a recommendation.

I've got a similar setup. With my eagle stock pack the medium rings work great as far as cheek weld. Without the stock pack low would be best.
