When checking the headspace on a 1903A3, do any of the parts of the bolt need to be removed (extractor, firing pin, etc.)? With a complete bolt, unable to close on a "Go" Gauge Clymer .30-06. Can't seem to find info anywhere. Thanks!

At the minimum I would remove the sleeve/firing pin rod/striker/safety lock assembly...

Drop it in normally.
Most headspace gauges have a hole in the back in case the firing pin was to push out.
Remember that headspace gauges are much harder than the metal used in the firearm.
If it is necessary, fit the gauge into the bolt face before chambering.
