| I'm not sure if this is the right area to post this but has anyone else watched the 20/20 on guns? I just caught the part about gun show sales and they make it seem that there is no control and anyone can buy a gun and the part about if there is a shoot out then it will do you no good. Any opinions on what you saw? |
| It was the worst piece of slanted one sided misinformed piece of yellow "journalism" garbage I have ever seen...a classic piece of anti-gun propaganda. Diane Sawyer ought to be banned from further insultation of our intelligence. There were SO many innacuracies in it that I would not know where to start. Check out the ABC website and search for "If I only had a gun" and see the entire lineup of anti-gun videos they have available for all those people of like minds who want to take away your 2nd amendment rights. it will make you ill. |

Just a heads up there is another on 60min this Sunday. So far it talks about how the ammo and gun industry are doing well in these hard economic times. Lets see what other things they say on the whole thing.
I also like the way 20/20 adds to the panic about gun buying. |
| Yeah, complete crap. They send a P.D. firearms instructor in to ambush the classroom and give a retard airsofter (thought he had expierience from that) the pistol to defend. Asshat couldn't get it out of his shirt. My wife thought I was a bit overstated when I voiced my opinion on his actions, and the Darwin award winners that were looking down the barrel to see if the guns were loaded! Good times ahead. |

This was the most one sided emotionally fueled drivel I have ever watched! The gun show spot? WTF? you could go to Craig's list or the classifieds section of a news paper and do the same. Thing.
Why don't they show the inside the of a gunshow and have him go to a dealer's table and try to purchase. Probably because about 40% of the time when they call in for an instant background the applicats approval is delayed.
Even if he was approved the first and second time after that he most certainly would have been delayed had he went inside to purchase 10 weapons! The court room scenarios were a joke. I think we should form a petition and send send it to ABC and make it clear that we won't watch a station that provides such slanted blatently biased coverage. If they don't get the message make a list of who the advertisers are during these segments and boycott them as well. This is not 1994. We know their agenda and have the benefit of hindsite to not make the complacent mistakes as last time. Regards, ~r. |

Quoted:
I all fairness the kid was in an oversize t-shirt and the shooter knew were the armed student was, the kid with the most training they put a second shooter in just to insure failure...... I know. I like the first kid, "well I have been training with my Air Soft pistol If 20/20 had one shred left of honest journalism they would have conducted the same scenario with a fully trained CCW holder, or at least interview a CCW holder to know how serious he or she takes carrying a weapon. |
| The entire show was engineered to show the result that the media wished to present. The firearms owners were not taken in by the theatrics but the mindless mass that thinks that, “If it is presented by the TV news media that it must be true”, was duly impressed. Get ready for a big push by the usual gun ban proponents on all fronts. |
