ok so i have a guy at work that only deals with top of the line shit offering me a complete upper for $500 ? should i do it ? can i slap this on my 556 lower and run it with a 6.8 mag of course and how available is ammo mags ect for a 6.8

find out the twist rate and chamber first.

You want a 1in11 twist  with the specII chamber.

Yup- you sure can.  Be prepared to spend $1 a round for 6.8 SPC.

Depends on the upper.

The 6.8 requires a different mag, bolt, and barrel. If he's including the BCG, you only need mags. Last time I checked 44mag.com he had 6.8 mags in stock.

6.8 ammo isn't easy to find here and about a buck a round when you do. Just buy some brass and load your own.
