Does anyone have a good source for some project guns? I want them to get some practice on them, and the worse shape they are in the better. I have looked at several pawn shop and at gun shows, but even guns in horrible shape they are asking way too much money for.

as far as pawn shops go - I've been told alot of them will put what they have invested in the gun on the tag itself, in a simple code.  Most of them use the same "code" so if you can find that, you have an extra bargaining chip ("I know you have $xx in this gun" etc).

99% of the pawn shops I've been into have the prices on the tags more as guides than anything.  Almost all of them will haggle.

Other than that, try getting your hands on some Century Israeli mausers or some of the Turkish mausers.  Those came in pretty rough.

try flea markets....i'm not kidding either.  You probably won't find anything cool or valuable there but my buddy found a single shot H&R 12ga for $75.  His grandparents redid the wood for him and it looks amazing.  The gun itself is in OK shape, the metal probably could use a rebluing but it still looks damn good for $75.

Try to find a place called postal pack and meter. I think thats the name. They used to move alot of guns cheap, some in need of work, but I meen cheap.
